He is currently Visiting Research Fellow in Economic Security at the Institute for Geoeconomics, International House of Japan. A historian by training, he holds a PhD from the London School of Economics, an MA from Waseda University, and a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.

He owns a media company, advises Italian political and business figures, and conducts training sessions for Italy’s national security system.
